The Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival is the most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. For 2012, the Chinese year 4710 begins on Monday, 23rd January. Whilst this may not be a bank holiday in the UK, this celebration is expected to be observed by the Chinese who reside or study in the UK.
