Aside from career shows, go to open days of universities and colleges to get a glimpse of how it is like being a student and help you decide whether it fits you. Look for Work Experience
You can start looking for work experience. Many students are doing work experience during, as part of their work contract, the half term break. If you do not have one, now is a good time to start searching for one. Aside from career shows, there are many other events and sources of information for job openings for young people like you. These include the National Citizen Service which is for ages 15 – 17.
You need to do many things in your student job search including, among others, determining what career you would like to develop, preparing your curriculum vitae (CV), writing your job application letter, looking for student jobs to apply to and going through the recruitment process. You can use the half term break to prepare for all these.
Invest Time for the Long Term
There is more than vacationing during the half term break. Manage your time well so that you can make it beneficial to your studies and future career while still spending time to relax with family and friends.
